The Doll Street Journal is still here, and still following fellow artists around the globe who create, restore, and engage in the art of the doll. My update today involves the Ideal Tammy Doll Family and friends. The Ideal Tammy doll was manufactured from 1962 to 1966. During this time it was one of the most popular and copied doll in the world. I have my original childhood Tammy and sister Pepper dolls that my mother gave me when I was a little girl. As I grew older, I saw a lot of parents cleaning out their children's dolls by either incorporating them into their garage sales, donating them to Good Will, or throwing them away. I have been restoring Ideal Tammy dolls for most of my life because the dolls deserve another chance to be a good toy.
